Healthy Tomorrows - of Kodiak Island
Healthy Tomorrows was formed in the summer of 2008, after a Community Health Assessment was conducted for Providence. The results of the needs assessment served as a way for members of the community to pull together. A group began meeting to discuss ways to meet some of the most urgent wellness issues identified.

The key goals of Healthy Tomorrows are:

1) To increase the number of Kodiak area youth who are of a      healthy weight
2) To reduce substance abuse among youth
3) To prevent suicidal tendencies (thoughts and plans)

The overall vision of Healthy Tomorrows is to assist the residents of Kodiak Island by making healthier lifestyle choices available.  Healthy Tomorrows is currently focused on working with middle school and high school age youth. However, in the future we plan to expand this focus to include adults as well.
